Room Reveal: Office, Take Two

A few months ago we finally shared with you the room reveal for our office. That was right before we disassembled it to make room for the new nursery (which I'll share with you next!). So what to do about our desks and computers? My first thought was just to use one of the large extra bedrooms on the lower level. James had other ideas. He must have been itching for a new house project because he decided to build a whole new room into the floor plan. We carved out a small but functional space from the unfinished portion of the lower level to make space for our new office. James built and put up the walls, sheetrock and drop ceiling. I helped him tile the floor with some of the extra tile we had left over from the upstairs half bath and laundry room. We painted the walls, installed the electrical components and lighting and put up trim. In all, the project took about three weekends. The room is located directly off the game room and also has access to the unfinished portion of the lower level. While there are no windows, the door is always open and the 10 foot ceilings in the game room along with the wall of glass windows and doors let in a surprising amount of light. Well done, James.

Love the photograph above the credenza. Taken in Salt Lake City, UT by my cousin Amanda.

Here's a few shots I snagged during the construction process.
