We put out our cookies, milk and carrots for Santa and his reindeer before bed. I even managed to get Cece to drink some milk (this never happens) to go along with Santa's.
I will say, the kids slept great on Christmas Eve. I think I was more excited for Christmas morning than they were, I was up at least twice throughout the night. Sully got up at his regular time (6:30 AM) and we sat near the tree and admired the presents together. I kept thinking Cece would wake up (she's usually up by 6:30, also) but girlfriend slept until 7:30 AM! I couldn't believe it.
Finally, Cece arrived on the scene. A girl of wild hair and few words that morning.
And then, chaos ensued. Because, well, presents!
It took awhile to recover from that mess. To be honest, we are still recovering! After a few more pictures, a nice breakfast and a little nap (for Sully at least) we all piled into the car and headed to Nana and Gramps' lake house for Christmas dinner.
It was so warm on Christmas day that Santa was out waterskiing and the kids were in their bathing suits. That is unheard of for Christmas in Connecticut.
We enjoyed a yummy dinner, family time and yes, more presents with my parents, James' parents, my godparents and my brother's family. It's nice to enjoy the holidays together. Nana even made us snap a few pictures.
It was a holiday season topped off by a wonderful Christmas. The only thing that could have made it better was a little snow. Christmas keeps getting better every year though. Cece was really into it this year. I hope she "believes" for many more years. It makes it extra special!
